The Kotwali police arrested 24-year-old Tanuj Jain for allegedly selling intoxicating injections, seizing nine vials of Pheniramine Maleate IP (Avil) from his possession on Monday.
SHO Vipin Tamrakar reported that the suspect, wearing a maroon shirt and blue jeans, was seen behaving suspiciously near Jaipur Marble, Gopalbagh. Acting on a tip-off, a police team led by Sub-Inspector Sanjay Gurjar along with constables Rupesh and Vijay, launched a search and quickly located a person matching the description.
As police approached, the suspect attempted to flee but was swiftly apprehended. Upon searching him, officers recovered a white pouch containing nine 10 ml injections of Pheniramine Maleate, a drug often misused as a sedative or intoxicant.
The accused, Tanuj Jain, resides at Samdariya Complex in the Cherital area. He has been booked under Section 5/13 of the Madhya Pradesh Drug Control Act, and further investigations are underway to determine the source and potential network behind the illegal sale.
