Tania Rano Arrested in Marriage Trap Kidnapping Scam

Authorities in Sindh have arrested Tania Rano, a woman accused of ensnaring individuals in marriage traps as part of a kidnapping scheme. Tania, reportedly married to gang member Badeel Shar, was apprehended in the Katcha area while collaborating with a group of dacoits.

According to Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Aneel Haider, Tania’s role involved enticing victims via video calls and persuading them to meet her under the false pretense of marriage. Once the victims were lured, she would transport them to the gang’s hideouts in Kashmore and Ghotki.

The police discovered that Tania received a SIM card from the gang through a courier service to aid their operations. Initially connected with one gang, she was later approached by another dacoit group that offered her a share of their ill-gotten gains for her help.

At the time of her arrest, Tania had already targeted a man from Lahore, but law enforcement successfully rescued him before he could be victimized by the gang. Tania maintained a network that extended across Punjab, Sindh, and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, complicating the investigation further.
