LANSING, Mich. — Tamarious “Poogi” Faulkner, 28, the leader of the Jackson-based street gang known as the “Thorough Bread Family” (TBF), pleaded guilty to a federal charge of Conspiracy to Distribute more than 400 grams of fentanyl.
Faulkner, originally from Houston, Texas, admitted in court that he led the conspiracy, coordinating the distribution of large quantities of fentanyl in Jackson. Unlike the typical white powder form, the TBF’s fentanyl was sold in a unique rock-like crystalline form, often colored yellow, purple, or blue. The gang was also connected to firearms and machine guns used in their illegal operations.
The U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Michigan reported that six other gang members have already been sentenced for their roles in the operation. These individuals are facing prison sentences ranging from 60 to 128 months.
Acting U.S. Attorney Julie A. Beck stated, “TBF wreaked havoc on a community by peddling poison and protecting their drug business with violence. We will continue to aggressively investigate and prosecute individuals and gangs like TBF who threaten public safety.”
Faulkner’s sentencing is scheduled for April 29, 2025. He faces a mandatory minimum sentence of 10 years in prison, with a maximum sentence of life in prison.
