Taiwanese actor Darren Wang, alongside nine others, was arrested on Tuesday morning for suspected military service evasion and document forgery. Local criminal investigation bureau officers took them into custody for further inquiries, with authorities hinting at the possibility of more individuals being involved in the case, as reported by Taiwan’s TVBS News.
At approximately 9 AM on Tuesday, police officers arrived at Wang’s residence with a search and detention warrant. Wang was taken by surprise when he answered the door. Authorities explained the situation before conducting a search that lasted over an hour.
When taken to the security van, Wang noticed the media presence but refrained from commenting on the incident, according to TVBS.
The case will be transferred to the Taiwan New Taipei District Prosecutors’ Office for further investigation. As of now, Wang’s agent has not provided any official response.
Darren Wang, 33, gained fame in 2015 for his leading role in the movie Our Times.
