Syracuse Man Arrested in Rome on Drug and Weapons Charges

ROME, N.Y. — Alfred L. Thomas, 39, of Syracuse, was arrested by the Rome Police Department on Friday after a lengthy investigation into cocaine distribution within the city. The arrest followed the execution of several search warrants by the Rome Police Department’s Special Investigations Unit.

During the search, police discovered 133 individual packages of cocaine, two handguns, ammunition, and nearly $400 in cash. As a result of the investigation, Thomas was charged with two counts of Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the 2nd Degree and two counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 3rd Degree.

Thomas was booked and processed at Rome Police Headquarters and is awaiting arraignment.
