A 23-year-old Swindon man, Kurtis Knee, has been sentenced to two years in prison after admitting to drug-related crimes. On October 14, Knee was sentenced at Swindon Crown Court for possession with intent to supply cannabis and possessing criminal property.
The charges arose from a police raid on July 31, when officers executed a warrant at Knee’s residence on Keswick Road in Park South. During the search, nearly 10kg of cannabis was discovered, along with a substantial sum of cash and high-value clothing and trainers, totalling £5,689. The drugs found have an estimated street value of £100,000 if sold in smaller quantities.
PC Thompson emphasized the dangers of drug dealing, stating, “While cannabis is often perceived as a low-level drug, its distribution carries serious risks. Young people, in particular, are drawn into dealing, often facing threats from rival groups and the risk of violence.”
Inspector David Tippetts commended the operation, stating, “This is a significant outcome in addressing drug supply from an individual with a history of drug offenses. We remain dedicated to working closely with the community to combat the distribution of illegal substances in Swindon.”
This case also underscores the dangers of organized criminal groups (OCGs) involved in drug trafficking, who frequently exploit vulnerable individuals to transport drugs from cities to smaller towns and rural areas. Wiltshire Police has urged the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity linked to drug dealing in their communities.
