Swapan Sharma Leads Jalandhar Police in Fake Degree Bust

The Jalandhar Commissionerate Police, led by Commissioner Swapan Sharma, has arrested another suspect in connection with an interstate fake degree scam.

Commissioner Sharma announced that the police have successfully dismantled a gang involved in this fraudulent operation. During earlier investigations, officers seized 196 counterfeit degrees from two individuals, Hardeep Singh and Jagdeep Singh, who were arrested following a raid at a property in Jalandhar.

An FIR was lodged on September 28 at the Sadar Jalandhar police station, detailing multiple offenses under various sections of the BNS and PTPR Act. The latest suspect is a travel agent named Sam, also known as Bharam Raj or Sunny Gujral. He resides in Urban Estate Phase 1 in Jalandhar and operates Gujral Consultants and Immigration Services, located near the bus stand in Bedi Paradise. Notably, Sam faces two other pending cases at different police stations within the city.

Commissioner Sharma indicated that more details will emerge as the investigation continues.
