On Wednesday, police successfully arrested Swagat Dhavale, a resident of Shastri Nagar, for his involvement in a daylight robbery that occurred in Channamma Nagar on January 27. Dhavale, in broad daylight, entered a woman’s house while she was alone and attacked her by splashing chilli powder in her eyes. He then proceeded to steal 52 grams of gold jewellery.
The incident was caught on a CCTV camera, which showed Dhavale leaving the building with the stolen items. Upon investigation, Udyambag police tracked down the accused and recovered the stolen gold jewellery. They also seized the two-wheeler that Dhavale used to commit the crime.
Dhavale has been arrested, and further investigations are underway to determine if there are any other individuals involved in the robbery. The police have assured that strict action will be taken to prevent such incidents in the future.
