Suspect in Indian Overseas Bank Robbery Arrested After Police Shootout

In a dramatic turn of events, Arvind Kumar, a suspect in the Indian Overseas Bank robbery, was arrested on Monday following a police encounter. Kumar sustained a gunshot wound to his leg during the shootout, while his accomplices managed to escape the scene.

Authorities had received a tip-off and quickly surrounded a vehicle suspected to be carrying the robbers near Kisan Path in Laulai village. As the police moved in to apprehend the suspects, Kumar opened fire, prompting officers to return fire, injuring him in the process. Despite his capture, the vehicle containing the other suspects managed to flee the scene.

The robbery took place at the Indian Overseas Bank’s Chinhat branch, where the culprits had broken into lockers and made off with an undisclosed amount of valuables. Interestingly, despite the bank’s claims of having adequate security measures, there were no alarms or security guards present during the heist.

Following the incident, the bank has assured customers that insurance coverage will compensate for any losses incurred. Meanwhile, the investigation is ongoing, with police working in full cooperation with bank authorities to track down the remaining suspects.
