Suresh Rathod Arrested for Supplying Weapon in Satish Rathod Murder

Vijayapura police successfully apprehended Suresh Rathod, the accused responsible for supplying the country-made pistol used in the January 28 murder of Satish Rathod in Tikota taluk. The police operation unfolded near Women’s University on the city outskirts, where Rathod, who had been absconding since the crime, was tracked down after a tip-off.

Upon encountering police officers, Rathod attempted to resist arrest by attacking Police Sub-Inspector (PSI) Vinod Dodmani and a constable with a knife. In self-defense, officers shot a warning shot in the air and then fired at Rathod’s leg to subdue him. Rathod was subsequently arrested and is now receiving medical treatment for his injury.

PSI Dodmani and the constable sustained injuries and were admitted to a private hospital. Senior police officers, including SP Laxman Nimbargi and Additional SP Ramanagouda Hatti, visited the hospital to check on their condition. Rathod’s arrest follows the earlier detention of five other suspects involved in the case.
