Suresh Balan Arrested in Gandhi Nagar for Selling Nitrazepam Tablet

The Excise Department arrested 38-year-old Suresh Balan from Gandhi Nagar for possessing 40 nitrazepam tablets, a psychotropic drug commonly prescribed for anxiety and insomnia. The total weight of the tablets was 22.40 grams.

Nitrazepam, which is prone to abuse, was allegedly being sold by Balan at a price of Rs200 each tablet, despite its official market price of Rs4 per tablet. Authorities are investigating the case further, as nitrazepam abuse remains a growing concern.

Suresh Balan has been taken into custody, and the Excise officials are working to determine the source of the tablets and the extent of their distribution.
