Suraj Suryawanshi Arrested for Murder of Rohit Dhamal in Ambegaon

Ambegaon police have arrested 22-year-old Suraj Suryawanshi, a murder suspect who fled to Madhya Pradesh after allegedly killing 21-year-old Rohit Dhamal near Jambhulwadi on June 15. Both the accused and the victim were delivery executives working for the same e-commerce company.

The murder case was registered at Ambegaon police station on June 16, triggering a swift investigation. Utilizing technical surveillance and intelligence inputs, police tracked Suraj’s location to Indore, Madhya Pradesh, and apprehended him within 24 hours of the crime.

According to API Priyanka Gore, the accused and victim were acquainted. The conflict reportedly began when Suraj created a fake social media account impersonating a friend’s sister, which escalated into a dispute culminating in the murder.

Suraj Suryawanshi is now in custody as police continue their investigation.
