DORCHESTER COUNTY, S.C. — Dorchester County deputies have arrested 32-year-old Thomas Keith Bunch of Summerville after a brief pursuit through the woods. Bunch, who was wanted on multiple felony charges, was taken into custody after fleeing from deputies on Saturday.
According to the Dorchester County Sheriff’s Office, deputies attempted to make contact with Bunch in an area off Highway 17A. However, when Bunch was approached, he fled into the woods, ignoring deputies’ commands to stop.
Deputies and a K-9 unit immediately gave chase. The K-9 successfully located Bunch after a short search, during which Bunch was heard yelling at the dog. Following his apprehension, Bunch received treatment for injuries sustained during the pursuit.
Bunch faces several charges, including first-degree burglary, failure to appear for trafficking meth, failure to appear for a larceny charge, and resisting arrest. He was booked into the L.C. Knight Detention Center, where records indicate that he has since been released. Bunch is scheduled to appear in court in March to face the charges.
