Suleman Siddiqui and Wife Arrested in Goa Over Land Fraud

The police team escorting Suleman Siddiqui, also known as Suleman Khan, is heading to Goa, where he will be formally arrested and interrogated. Siddiqui, who was detained last Saturday in Kerala, faces 13 charges against him.

Director General of Police Alok Kumar confirmed that the team is on its way to Goa, where the formal arrest will take place. SP Crime Branch Rahul Gupta revealed that Siddiqui’s wife, Afsana, will also be arrested in connection with a land fraud case in Mapusa.

Siddiqui had been hiding in Kerala, where his wife was detained during the police search. Investigators seized critical evidence from their residence, including 16 passbooks, multiple Aadhaar cards, 12 phones, 30 cheque books, ration cards, sale deeds, and stamp pads linked to certain companies.

The investigation further uncovered that Siddiqui had moved between eight locations across Karnataka and Kerala while evading arrest for nine days. Following a tip-off, the Ernakulam police in Kerala detained him while he was with his wife.

To track down Siddiqui, the Goa police had deployed 14 teams with over 70 personnel. Amit Naik, a former IRB constable, confessed to helping Siddiqui escape custody and transport him to Hubli, Karnataka.

As the investigation into the land fraud case continues, both Siddiqui and his wife are expected to face additional charges. They will be formally arrested and interrogated upon their arrival in Goa. The police will also review videos involving Siddiqui to verify their authenticity.
