In a significant development, Sujoy Ghosh and Debabrata Saha were arrested and produced before the court on Friday, following charges of theft at Agartala Smart Bazaar.
The incident took place on October 16, when the two youths were caught by security guards at Agartala Smart Bazaar for leaving the store without billing grocery items and garments. The departmental manager filed a formal complaint, leading to the registration of a case at West Agartala Police Station of the BNS.
The accused were arrested on theft charges, with the West Agartala Police confirming that the stolen goods amounted to approximately Rs 5 lakh. The case is now under investigation, and both youths were produced in court, where the police sought their remand for further interrogation.
