Steven Gonzalez Arrested After High-Speed Chase and Crash

A Santa Barbara man was arrested Tuesday morning following a police pursuit and crash in Pismo Beach.

Officers from the Grover Beach Police Department tracked a stolen vehicle to a gas station on Five Cities Drive. When they attempted to make contact, the driver fled the scene.

The suspect led officers onto southbound Highway 101, reaching speeds exceeding 100 mph. Due to safety concerns, police discontinued the chase near the Los Berros Road exit.

After exiting the highway, the suspect lost control of the vehicle, which rolled over. The driver, 33-year-old Steven Oscar Gonzalez, sustained minor injuries and was taken into custody.

Gonzalez is facing charges for vehicle theft and evading arrest. The stolen car was reported taken from Paso Robles.
