State Rep. Tracy Estes Arrested for Domestic Violence in Winfield

Tracy Estes, a Republican representative from Winfield, Alabama, was arrested by the Marion County Sheriff’s Department on Friday night and charged with third-degree domestic violence.

Court records obtained by WBRC reveal that Estes allegedly verbally threatened to harm his wife for over two hours, while she remained locked inside a bedroom. Reports state that Estes repeatedly beat on the door during the confrontation.

Estes did not respond to a request for comment from 1819 News on the matter.

In response to the incident, House Speaker Nathaniel Ledbetter released a statement acknowledging the situation involving Rep. Estes. Ledbetter expressed full confidence in the justice system to handle the matter appropriately, emphasizing that elected officials must uphold the highest standards in both their professional and personal lives.

“Alabamians deserve the very best from their elected officials,” Ledbetter said, adding that House members should always be beyond reproach.
