Sridhar Pujar: Arrested in Karnataka Bitcoin Scam Investigation

Suspended Deputy Superintendent of Police, Sridhar Pujar, who had been evading authorities for seven months, surrendered to the Special Investigation Team (SIT) on Monday. Following his surrender, he was presented before a Bengaluru court and placed in police custody for three days.

Pujar’s arrest marks him as the fourth police officer and the fifth individual detained by the SIT, which is probing alleged irregularities in the Central Crime Branch’s (CCB) management of the high-profile bitcoin scam that emerged between 2020 and 2021. The SIT was established in July 2023 after the Congress regained power in the state.
