Spokane Man Arrested for Attempted Tire Theft from Parked Truck

A 39-year-old man was arrested in Spokane for attempting to steal tires from a parked truck. According to the Spokane Police Department (SPD), officers responded to a burglary report on Thursday around 7 a.m. An employee at a business on Sprague Avenue observed a suspect removing tires from a white truck in the parking lot.

Surveillance video identified the suspect as Brandon Machala. Upon the officers’ arrival, Machala attempted to flee but was quickly apprehended in the parking lot. Police found the stolen tires hidden behind the business and discovered that Machala had accessed the lot through a cut fence.

Machala has been booked into the Spokane County Jail on charges of second-degree burglary. He has an extensive criminal record, including previous felony convictions for retail theft.
