Software Engineer Arrested for Selling Ganja in Kukatpally

In a crackdown on drug peddling, the Excise Special Task Force (STF) arrested Bharat Ramesh Babu, a software engineer from Hyderabad, for selling ganja at the Vasanth Nagar bus stop in Kukatpally. The STF team seized 1.1 kilograms of ganja from him during the operation.

Ramesh Babu, who had turned to drug dealing due to financial struggles caused by personal bad habits, had been regularly supplied ganja by a man named Santosh, a resident of Khammam district. On Friday, Santosh had delivered the drugs to Ramesh Babu when STF officers intercepted the transaction. Although Ramesh Babu was caught, Santosh managed to escape, evading capture.

Along with the ganja, Ramesh Babu’s mobile phone was seized during the arrest. VV Kamalasan Reddy, Director of Excise Enforcement, and Tirupati Yadav, STF DSP, praised the swift and effective action taken by the police team. Investigations are ongoing, and authorities are working to apprehend Santosh.
