The Kothapet police of Guntur district have arrested two drug peddlers, Sk. Yousuf Sharif and Battu Donalf alias Tony, both natives of Guntur, after seizing 66.26 grams of MDMA from them on Thursday.
Acting on a tip-off, a team led by East Division DSP Abdul Azeez and Kothapet CI M. Veeraiah apprehended the accused near the bus stand. The two individuals had procured the drug from a supplier in Bengaluru and were in the process of distributing the MDMA when they were arrested, said Guntur SP S. Satish Kumar.
The authorities have launched an ongoing investigation into their operations.
