Madison, Wisconsin (WMTV) — December 12, 2024 – Dantrell Stevenson, 31, of Matteson, Illinois, was sentenced to two years in federal prison, followed by four years of supervision, for his involvement in a fentanyl distribution ring in Madison. The sentencing was announced by the Wisconsin Department of Justice (DOJ) on Thursday.
Stevenson, who had been on parole for a previous firearms conviction, pleaded guilty to conspiring to distribute fentanyl in September. His participation in the operation involved the smuggling of more than 4,000 kilograms of fentanyl from Arizona to Madison, Wisconsin.
The investigation, which began in 2022, uncovered two packages containing one kilogram each of fentanyl. Over the course of the year, undercover officers in Madison made 23 purchases of fentanyl from members of the organization, with Stevenson being involved in ten of those transactions. Authorities also intercepted additional shipments of fentanyl.
Stevenson’s sentence is the shortest among six men who were sentenced throughout 2024 for their roles in the trafficking operation. The other individuals involved include Dejon Glover, Lloyd McKire-Bennett, Deshawn Davis, Yoshi Walker, and Christopher Wilson.
