Six Drug Peddlers Arrested in Baramulla and Sopore with Contraband

Police in Baramulla and Sopore have arrested six drug peddlers and seized contraband and psychotropic substances from their possession, according to an official report released on Sunday.

In the Thanda Kasi Chandoosa area of Baramulla, Mohammad Shaban Maray, son of the late Ghulam Mohammad from Dudbugh, was arrested after 56 grams of cannabis was recovered from him.

At Limber Boniyar, two individuals, Mehraj Ahmad Najar (son of late Fateh Najar from Limber) and Shabir Ahmad Bakerwal (son of Wazir Mohammad from Babagail Limber), were apprehended with 88 grams of cannabis.

In the Babareshi Crossing area, Ishfaq Ahmad Magray and Dawood Ahmad Magray, sons of Ghulam Rasool Magray from Dudbugh, were arrested, and 85 grams of cannabis was seized from their possession.

In Sopore, at the Chinar Crossing Fruit Mandi, Majid Ashraf Khan, son of Mohammad Ashraf Khan from Pethseer Sopore, was arrested with 110 banned tablets (Alprazolam).

Police have registered cases under the relevant sections of the law against the arrested individuals at their respective police stations. Investigations are ongoing to uncover further details regarding their activities and connections in the drug trade.
