Six Arrested in Rs25.68 Lakh Drug Seizure in Ahmedabad

In a successful late-night operation on Tuesday, the Special Operations Group (SOG) of Ahmedabad seized MD (mephedrone) drugs worth Rs25.68 lakh from a flat in a posh housing society in Naranpura. This raid followed a tip-off and was connected to a major drug shipment intercepted off the Gujarat coast.

The drugs were ordered by Fatehwadi resident Mustakim Sheikh, a known figure in the MD drug trade, who had procured the consignment from Mohammad Khan of Madhya Pradesh. The drugs were intended to be delivered to Elephanta Society, where the SOG team raided Jignesh Pandya’s flat.

During the raid, the SOG seized a significant quantity of MD, and arrested six individuals, including Mohammad Khan, Mustakim alias Bhuro, Dhruv Patel, Mohammad Ejaz Sheikh, Abrar Khan Pathan, and Jignesh Pandya. The team also confiscated a Scorpio vehicle linked to the operation.

Initial investigations suggest that the drugs were part of a larger interstate network involving a drug mafia in Rajasthan. The SOG continues to probe further into this syndicate’s activities, which highlights the growing involvement of organized crime in drug trafficking. Further arrests and discoveries are expected as the investigation progresses.
