Gardaí in Bray have arrested six individuals in connection with the murder of 38-year-old Willie Moorehouse. The suspects, including men in their 20s, 30s, and a teenage boy, were taken into custody following a series of investigations into Moorehouse’s death.
The arrests were made under the Public Order Act, with initial charges of violent disorder and affray. Gardaí confirmed the detentions following a total of seven searches carried out as part of the ongoing investigation.
Two men, one in his 20s and another in his 40s, were arrested on the evening prior to today’s detentions. Three additional men, aged between 20 and 30, and a teenage boy were taken into custody this morning. All detainees are being held under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984, with further questioning taking place at Garda stations in the Wexford/Wicklow Division.
The investigation has been assisted by the Garda National Bureau of Criminal Investigation, and detectives continue to search for crucial evidence related to Moorehouse’s death.
A post-mortem examination is scheduled for today, with State Pathologist Dr. Sally Anne Collis overseeing the process at a Dublin morgue. The results of this examination will provide essential information to aid the ongoing investigation into this tragic event.
