The Dindoli Police Station’s surveillance team has arrested six individuals for practicing medicine without valid medical degrees in the Dindoli Navagam area. The police, using dummy patients, conducted successful raids on several clinics and seized medical equipment and supplies worth Rs52,419.
The arrested individuals include Rajesh Ramkrishna Mahajan (49), who ran Gurukrupa Clinic; Mahesh Vitthal Rajput (47), who operated Maya Clinic; Arti Devi Shobhnath Maurya (30), who managed Aashi Clinic; Buddh Devkumar Chauhan (21), who ran Bihar Clinic; Manorama Amardeo Vikramaditya Pal (28), who operated Abhi Clinic; and Sharad Narayan Patel (52), who managed Shri Datt Clinic—all without holding legitimate medical qualifications.
Cases have been filed against the accused under Section 125 of the B.N.S. Act, 2023, and Section 30 of the Gujarat Medical Practitioner Act. The raid resulted in the confiscation of allopathic medicines, injections, glucose bottles, antibiotics, and other medical supplies from their clinics.
During interrogation, the suspects revealed they had previously worked as assistants in pharmacies, gaining basic knowledge of medicines. They later started their own clinics, jeopardizing public health. Some also admitted to acquiring fake medical degrees from Rasesh Gujarati, who was arrested last year in a related fake degree scam.
The police action highlights the ongoing issue of unqualified practitioners posing a threat to public safety in the region, and investigations into the matter are ongoing.
