Six Arrested for Murder of Kaja Moideen Over Monetary Dispute Near Avadi

The Avadi police have arrested six individuals in connection with the murder of 26-year-old Kaja Moideen following a drunken brawl over a monetary dispute. The incident occurred near Avadi, with the victim’s body discovered in a house in Nandavanam Mettur on Monday, June 9, 2024.

Police were alerted after the body was found, and upon investigation, they identified the victim as Kaja Moideen. The house where the body was found belonged to S. Karthikeyan, 23, an autorickshaw driver. Karthikeyan told the police that Kaja Moideen had been staying with him for the past 10 days.

According to Karthikeyan’s statement, the two men had been involved in an argument over money, which escalated during a drunken brawl. The dispute eventually turned violent, leading to Moideen’s tragic death. Following this admission, police arrested Karthikeyan along with five other individuals believed to have been involved in the altercation.

The police have initiated a thorough investigation into the case, and further interrogations are ongoing to determine the exact sequence of events and the role of each suspect in the murder. The authorities are also looking into whether the group had a history of violence or previous disputes.

This murder highlights the dangers of escalating conflicts over financial issues, particularly in situations involving alcohol, and has shocked the local community.
