Siti Hajartul Haini Arrested in RM110 Million Gold Scam

KUALA LUMPUR: A 37-year-old woman, Siti Hajartul Haini Abd Hamid, has been arrested in connection with a RM110 million gold investment scam. She was apprehended at Penang International Airport upon her return from Dubai, United Arab Emirates.

Datuk Seri Ramli Mohamed Yoosuf, director of the Federal Commercial Crime Investigation Department, confirmed that Siti Hajartul has been remanded to assist with ongoing investigations.

Reports indicate that over 100 victims lost a total of more than RM110 million to a scheme involving the sale of 916 gold at prices significantly below market value over the past two months. The operation operated similarly to pyramid schemes, enticing investors with attractive offers, leading some to borrow from family, friends, and even loan sharks.

Previously, police had issued a notice seeking Siti Hajartul’s whereabouts.
