Shivamogga Police Arrest Two UP Men in Rs41 Lakh Digital Fraud Case

Shivamogga police successfully arrested two men from Uttar Pradesh involved in a digital fraud case, recovering Rs23.89 lakh of the Rs41 lakh they had scammed from a senior citizen. The accused, identified as Mohammed Ahmed (45) from Maunath Bhanjan district and Abhishek Kumar Shet (27) from Azamgarh, were arrested on November 12 in a coordinated operation.

According to a press release from SP G.K. Mithun Kumar, the accused had posed as police and CBI officers, deceiving the victim into transferring Rs41 lakh to them. The fraudsters carried out their scam through digital means, using impersonation tactics to instill fear in the victim.

After a thorough investigation, the police tracked down the perpetrators and made the arrests. The police have recovered Rs23.89 lakh from the accused, and the investigation is ongoing. This operation highlights the increasing threat of digital frauds and the importance of vigilance against such impersonation scams.
