Sheffield Drug Gang Jailed for Flooding City with Class A Drugs

Sheffield, UK – A drug gang responsible for flooding Sheffield with Class A substances and spreading fear, terror, and crime has been jailed following a South Yorkshire Police investigation.

The gang, which raked in up to £4,000 daily, was dismantled after police raids between May and July 2019 in the Broomhall area. A total of 13 individuals were convicted, with two more awaiting trial.

Major Drug Dealers Sentenced
Three key figures in the conspiracy have been jailed for their roles in running the operation:

Fuad Hassan, 31 (Sheffield city centre) – 4 years and 8 months for conspiracy to supply Class A & B drugs, possession with intent to supply, and wounding.
Mohamed Warsame, 38 (Hanover Square, Broomhall) – 3 years and 9 months (sentenced in his absence) for conspiracy to supply Class A & B drugs.
Liban Mohammed, 30 (Ellesmere Road, Burngreave) – 2 years and 9 months for conspiracy to supply Class A & B drugs.
How Police Busted the Gang
During a police crackdown, authorities uncovered Class A drugs, drug paraphernalia, and mobile phones linked to the gang’s drug lines, which were found to be operating with a daily turnover of between £2,500 and £4,000.

Despite denying involvement during police interviews, evidence linked the three main dealers to the conspiracy.

Other Sentences Handed Down
Six other individuals were given non-custodial sentences for their roles in the operation:

Barkhad Dobiro, 24 (Upperthorpe) – 1 year and 8 months, suspended for 2 years.
Ahmed Farah, 23 (HMP Moorland) – 1 year and 7 months, suspended for 2 years.
Warfa Ibrahim, 27 (Donovan Road) – 1 year and 7 months, suspended for 2 years.
Wayis Ibrahim, 26 (Dorset Street) – 18-month community order with 60 hours unpaid work.
Aniyah Muneer, 39 (Donovan Road) – 12-month community order with 60 hours unpaid work.
Abdi Warsama, 30 (Brookhill) – 12-month community order with 100 hours unpaid work.
Two additional individuals, aged 34 and 37, still await trial for conspiracy to supply drugs. A 25-year-old man is appealing his conviction.

Police Response: “A Major Disruption to Drug Supply”
Detective Constable Matt Price of South Yorkshire Police’s Fortify Team, which targets serious organized crime, stated:

“Our investigation disrupted the organized supply of drugs in Sheffield. These criminals brought misery to vulnerable people and contributed to other forms of criminality.”

He emphasized that police would continue targeting drug networks that spread violence and exploitation in South Yorkshire.

Two individuals, a 29-year-old man and a 29-year-old woman, are due to be sentenced once they face separate charges.
