Shawnee Man Jeremy Meeks Arrested Again for Neighborhood Thefts

SHAWNEE, Okla. (KFOR) — Jeremy Meeks, a Shawnee man, is back in custody after allegedly stealing from multiple residents in his neighborhood.

Toni Matasci captured Meeks on her security camera outside her home in early August. “My head’s on a swivel, and I don’t feel safe anymore,” she shared, expressing her concerns about the repeated thefts in the area.

Matasci reported that Meeks has been a persistent problem, with her motorcycle being among several items stolen. “A few of my neighbors had stuff taken, and my neighbor next to me had a lawnmower stolen,” she said.

After being arrested for stealing her motorcycle, Meeks bonded out and allegedly returned to the neighborhood, this time stealing a neighbor’s security camera. “He looks into the camera, takes it, and puts it in his pocket,” Matasci described. “It just makes the community feel not so safe anymore.”

Matasci had purchased her motorcycle to commute to school, as her current car has transmission issues. “I needed that to get to the city. I had to drop all my classes,” she lamented.

Meeks is now facing charges ranging from petty larceny to larceny of an automobile. Matasci expressed her worry that he would return. “I’m constantly peeking out my window, checking my camera to see if someone is in my yard or stealing my stuff. Clearly, he’s done this over and over. As soon as he bonds out, it’s the same thing.”

Matasci has a court date soon and hopes to receive restitution for her stolen motorcycle.
