Shawn Mooney Arrested for Alleged Hammer Attack in Lebanon

LEBANON, N.H. (WCAX) – A New Hampshire man is facing multiple charges after allegedly attacking two people during a fight in Lebanon.

According to Lebanon police, the incident occurred around 4:30 p.m. on Sunday near an emergency winter shelter on Mechanic Street. Officers responded to reports of a violent altercation involving three men.

Investigators say Shawn Mooney, 37, of Canaan, NH, struck one man in the head with a hammer and attempted to gouge the eyes of a second victim. At least one of the injured individuals was transported to the hospital for treatment.

Mooney, who was already out on bail for a prior offense, was taken into custody again. He now faces multiple charges, including second-degree assault. Authorities have not disclosed additional details about the victims’ conditions.
