Raeford Woman Arrested for Shoplifting at Walmart

A 25-year-old woman from Raeford, Shannon Beard, faces multiple charges following her arrest at Walmart in Aberdeen on Saturday. She has been charged with possession of methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia, misdemeanor larceny, injury to personal property, and possession of stolen goods.

Aberdeen Police Chief Brian Chavis reported that officers responded to a call about a larceny in progress and apprehended Beard as she exited the garden center. After reviewing video surveillance and gathering witness statements, police confirmed that a theft had occurred and recovered stolen property.

During the investigation, officers discovered methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia concealed on Beard’s person. Her bond has been set at $12,000, and she is scheduled to appear in court on July 10. Beard is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
