A truck driver was arrested Thursday morning in connection with a fatal hit-and-run accident involving a pedestrian in Manhattan.
Officers responded just before 6 a.m. to the 700 block of South 4th Street after reports of a collision involving a cattle truck. Upon arrival, officers found the body of a 32-year-old man at the scene. The victim’s identity has not been released, and further details about the incident remain undisclosed.
Following an investigation, 48-year-old Shane Jungemann of Jefferson City, South Dakota, was arrested on a charge of failure to report an accident involving a fatality. Jungemann remains held in jail with a $15,000 bond. It is unclear if any additional charges will be filed.
