Shamsuddin, Sameer Sheikh Held in Rs1.11 Cr Mephedrone Bust

In a major crackdown on interstate drug trafficking, the Indore Narcotics Department arrested three men involved in smuggling MD (mephedrone) from Mandsaur to Mumbai under the guise of transporting garlic.

Acting on a specific intelligence tip-off, police intercepted a pickup truck near Mirzapura Phanta on the Mandsaur-Neemuch route. Though the vehicle appeared to be carrying garlic, it was found to be concealing 1.1 kilograms of MD, valued at Rs1.11 crore.

Arrested Accused:
Shamsuddin alias Annu (32) – Mandsaur resident and parole absconder in a 41 kg opium case in Rajasthan

Sameer Sheikh (50) – Mumbai resident

Yameen Khan (17) – Mumbai resident

Investigators revealed the accused were operating a narcotics supply chain moving mephedrone from Mandsaur to Mahim and nearby areas in Mumbai. All three have past records involving drug trafficking, particularly mephedrone and opium, in both Mumbai and Rajasthan.

This successful bust was part of an ongoing anti-drug campaign spearheaded by Additional Director General KP Rao, aimed at dismantling drug mafias across Madhya Pradesh.

A formal case has been registered, and further investigation is underway to uncover the broader network behind this operation.
