Seven Arrested in Podgorica Following Series of Thefts

The Podgorica police have shed light on several criminal thefts and successfully prosecuted seven individuals involved in various illegal activities. Among those arrested is MJ (42), who is suspected of committing serious theft by stealing 7,000 euros and 3,000 dollars from a residence and fleeing the scene.

Following the crime, police discovered that MJ was helped to escape by B.Đ. (34), who allegedly provided him with a ride to a safe location. B.Đ. has been arrested and charged with assisting the perpetrator after the crime.

Additionally, four individuals—NM (20), BJ (19), NJ (19), and BR (18)—were arrested on suspicion of stealing items such as reinforcing mesh, aluminum doors, and aluminum profiles, which they sold at a local scrapyard. A portion of the stolen property was recovered and returned to the victim. These suspects have been charged with serious theft.

The police also arrested MD (33) for allegedly stealing batteries and other items from several vehicles. He is facing four counts of aggravated theft. Criminal complaints have been filed against all suspects, and they are currently under investigation by the Basic State Prosecutor’s Office in Podgorica.
