In a significant breakthrough, the Sehore police have solved a Rs 34 lakh theft case, recovering cash and ornaments worth over Rs 34 lakh that were stolen nearly four days ago. Four burglars, including two minors, have been arrested in connection with the crime.
The case was initially reported by Nandkishore Sisodia, a resident of Rehti, who deals in cement and iron rods. Sisodia, along with his family, had gone to attend a wedding ceremony when a group of burglars entered their house. The thieves managed to break open the main gate and made off with cash and silver ornaments worth a substantial amount.
Upon receiving the complaint, Sub-Divisional Officer of Police (SDOP) Ravi Sharma visited the scene and launched an investigation, forming two teams to track down the culprits. After gathering evidence, the police apprehended Mahendra Mehta, who confessed to his involvement in the crime. He revealed that he had carried out the burglary along with three accomplices, including Deepak Malviya and two minors.
The police also seized a motorcycle and a hammer, which was used to break the gate during the burglary. Authorities have assured further action as the investigation continues into the details of the gang’s operations.
