SHREVEPORT, La. (KSLA) – A Northwood High School security officer has been arrested for simple battery after an altercation with a student, Caddo Parish Sheriff Henry Whitehorn Sr. announced.
Hosie Thomas, 46, was booked into the Caddo Correctional Center following an investigation by Detective Roosevelt Tadlock. His bond was set at $200.
The incident occurred on February 26 at approximately 10:30 a.m. when a 17-year-old female student was causing a disturbance. Thomas arrived to escort her to the Principal’s Office but allegedly escalated the situation.
According to reports, as Thomas walked behind the student, she turned to face him, at which point he grabbed her and wrestled her to the ground without cause. While restraining her, Thomas placed his right forearm across her neck, pinning her down.
A school resource officer (SRO), Deputy Nunnery from the Caddo Parish Sheriff’s Office (CPSO), arrived and took control of the situation. Both Thomas and the student declined medical attention.
Thomas has since been charged with simple battery, and further investigations are ongoing.
