Santinho Samacau Arrested for Bank Robbery in Norwich

Santinho Samacau was arrested on January 15, 2025, for robbing a bank in Norwich, according to local police. At approximately 9:30 a.m., authorities responded to a report of an armed robbery at the Centerville Bank branch on High Street, where the suspect was said to be carrying a firearm.

Witnesses provided a detailed description of the suspect, which was quickly communicated to officers. Fortunately, no injuries were reported during the robbery.

Officers and detectives soon spotted the suspect running from the scene. Samacau was apprehended following a brief foot chase. During his arrest, police found him in possession of a loaded semi-automatic handgun, a significant amount of cash, and other items tied to the robbery.

Samacau now faces several charges, including first-degree robbery, second-degree larceny, reckless endangerment, criminal use of a firearm, third-degree threatening, interfering with an officer, carrying a pistol without a permit, and possession of a high capacity magazine.

He was held on a $300,000 cash surety bond.
