Sanford Man Arrested for Shoplifting at Walmart

A Sanford man is facing serious charges after allegedly shoplifting at Walmart, according to Aberdeen Police Chief Brian Chavis.

Fifty-year-old Howard Badders was jailed without bond on charges of felony larceny from a merchant and shoplifting by concealment of goods.

On August 18, 2024, Aberdeen Police Officers responded to a report of larceny in progress at Walmart. Upon arrival, they identified and detained Badders. Officers spoke with witnesses and reviewed video surveillance, confirming that Badders had removed an anti-theft device from merchandise and concealed additional items in a bag with the intent to commit theft.

Defendants facing criminal charges are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
