Sandeep Singh and Manoj Deka Arrested in Guwahati for Heroin Peddling

The Assam Police’s Special Task Force (STF) has arrested two drug peddlers, Sandeep Singh (34) and Manoj Deka (37), in Guwahati, recovering a substantial haul of heroin worth Rs 5.5 crore.

The operation took place near Chandmari flyover under the jurisdiction of Chandmari Police Station on Thursday night. Acting on a tip-off, the STF conducted a raid and apprehended the suspects, seizing a total of 691 grams of heroin hidden in 10 soap boxes. The drugs, which are estimated to have a market value of around Rs 5.5 crore, were discovered along with two mobile phones used by the offenders.

Sandeep Singh and Manoj Deka are now in police custody, and necessary formalities are being processed. The seizure is part of the ongoing efforts by the STF to combat drug trafficking in the region.

The authorities are continuing to investigate the network behind the trafficking operation.
