A drug trafficking syndicate’s attempt to ship 68 parcels of Ghanaian Loud, weighing 42.2kg, concealed in the walls of crated cartons, to London was thwarted by the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA).
The bust occurred on February 21 at the export shed of the Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Ikeja, Lagos. Three individuals—a freight agent and two dispatch riders—were initially arrested in connection with the shipment.
Further investigation led to the mastermind, Samuel Bitrus, who was tracked down and arrested at his residence in Exodus Estate, Ajah, Lagos.
