In a surprise inspection, Kasaragod police seized ganja at a drug party held during the farewell day of Class-X students at a local school. Sameer KK (34), a native of Kalanad, was arrested on Friday for allegedly supplying drugs to the students.
The police action followed a tip-off received by District Police Chief Silpa D., who had been informed about the drug abuse taking place on the school campus. For several days, the school had been under surveillance, and when it was confirmed that a drug party was organized during the farewell event, a team led by Kasaragod sub-inspector Pradeep Kumar MP conducted a search, seizing the drugs.
During questioning, the students revealed that Sameer was the supplier, and he was promptly arrested. However, as police attempted to take him into custody, Sameer KK attacked an officer, causing serious injuries. The officer was immediately hospitalized, and Sameer was later remanded in judicial custody.
The police have also prepared a social background report (SBR) to assess the personal, familial, and school history of the students involved in the drug party. Sameer has been booked under various sections of the NDPS Act, the Juvenile Justice Act, and other relevant laws.
