Sameer Ansari Arrested in Poonam Dhillon’s Khar House Robbery

Bollywood actress Poonam Dhillon became the victim of a robbery at her Khar residence, where valuable items, including jewelry worth Rs. 1 lakh, Rs. 35,000 in cash, and 500 USD (Rs. 42,923), were stolen. The culprit, Sameer Ansari, who was part of a painting crew that worked at her home during the festive season, took advantage of the opportunity to steal the valuables.

Poonam Dhillon primarily resides with her son Anmol in Juhu, but occasionally stays at her Khar property, which was targeted in the crime. Sameer Ansari, 37, was arrested by the Khar police on January 6 for his involvement in the theft. The police found that Ansari had taken the opportunity when he noticed the cupboard containing the valuables was unlocked.

Ansari had been working as part of a painting crew from December 28 to January 5. After carrying out the theft, he spent Rs. 9,000 hosting a party for his colleagues. The theft was discovered on January 5 when Poonam’s son, Anmol, returned from Dubai and found the items missing. He then contacted his mother, and a report was filed by the actress’s manager, leading to the arrest of Ansari.
