Sam Powers, 28, has been sentenced to 20 years in prison after pleading guilty to an additional 44 counts of sexual offences against children. His sentence includes four years to be served on licence.
Alongside his imprisonment, Powers has been placed on the Sex Offenders Register and issued a Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO) for a minimum of 25 years.
Detective Sergeant Zoe Purnell praised the bravery of the survivors who came forward, stating, “This case resulted from a complex investigation revealing Powers as a predatory paedophile who groomed and abused young people for his own gratification.”
She added, “Powers now faces a lengthy jail term, which I hope provides some closure to the survivors. I encourage other survivors of abuse to report their experiences—we are here to support you.”
