Sam Hunt Arrested for Speeding and Interlock Device Violation

Sam Hunt, the country music star known for hits like “Body Like A Back Road” and “Take Your Time,” recently found himself in legal trouble after being arrested for speeding. This arrest has surprised many of his fans, who are now seeking more information about the circumstances surrounding the incident.

Sam Hunt was arrested on January 20, 2025, on charges of speeding and violating an interlock device, a breathalyzer system installed in his vehicle to prevent drunk driving. The incident took place in Henderson County, Tennessee, and Hunt was taken into custody.

According to reports from TMZ, Hunt was released later the same day after posting a $1,500 bond. Additionally, he avoided facing further charges, though he was issued a speeding ticket, which he is expected to pay.

This is not Hunt’s first run-in with the law. In 2019, the 40-year-old singer was arrested for driving under the influence (DUI). He was found driving the wrong way down a road, swerving between lanes, and was pulled over by authorities. Hunt showed signs of intoxication, including the smell of alcohol and bloodshot eyes. Police also discovered two open beer cans in his vehicle. His blood alcohol content was measured at 0.173, well above the legal limit.

Hunt pleaded guilty to the charges during a Zoom court appearance in 2021. He was initially sentenced to 11 months and 29 days in jail, but he negotiated a plea deal that resulted in a reduced sentence, which included attending 48 hours of a DUI education program. Hunt later expressed regret for the incident and apologized on social media.
