Ryan Vigil Arrested in Colorado Springs for Burglary and Theft

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KKTV) – Authorities in Colorado Springs have apprehended 18-year-old Ryan Vigil, a suspected repeat offender tied to several smash-and-grab burglaries of vape shops in the area.

The Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD) reported that detectives discovered Vigil’s whereabouts on December 31. The burglary unit, in collaboration with the Tactical Enforcement Unit, K9 Unit, Drone Unit, and Motor Vehicle Theft Unit, initiated an operation to capture him.

Surveillance revealed Vigil walking from his home to a stolen vehicle hidden in a nearby apartment complex. As officers approached, Vigil fled on foot, but a K9 officer quickly apprehended him.

Vigil faces charges stemming from a felony warrant for burglary, theft, and criminal mischief, as well as new charges for motor vehicle theft and resisting arrest.

As of Wednesday afternoon, Vigil remains in custody at the El Paso County Jail.
