Ryan Matthias Arrested for Alleged Child Internet Crimes

SAPULPA, Okla. — The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation (OSBI) has arrested Ryan Matthias, a criminal justice instructor at Central Technology Center in Sapulpa and former Creek County law enforcement officer, for alleged child internet crimes. The arrest follows an investigation prompted by a cybertip received by Sapulpa Police on September 12 concerning child sexual abuse material.

During the investigation, OSBI agents uncovered explicit images linked to an online user who was later identified as Matthias. A search warrant was executed at his home and workplace on Tuesday, where authorities recovered multiple digital devices as part of the inquiry. Matthias was subsequently booked into the Creek County jail.

Charges against Matthias are still pending, as the investigation remains ongoing and under review by the Creek County District Attorney’s Office.

Central Technology Center released a statement regarding the arrest, confirming that OSBI agents had arrived at the Sapulpa campus early in the morning to take Matthias into custody. The school emphasized its cooperation with law enforcement and assured the community of measures taken to ensure the safety and continuity of education. The instructor has been placed on administrative leave, and a former instructor will temporarily take over teaching duties.

The school has also communicated with parents, offering support and providing contact information for any concerns, and has notified partner schools of the situation.
