Ronald Thompson Arrested in Fayette Homecoming Shooting Incident

FAYETTE, MS – The Fayette Police Department has arrested Ronald Thompson III in connection with a shooting that occurred during homecoming festivities last Saturday morning. Thompson was apprehended on Monday and faces several charges, including aggravated assault, shooting in an occupied dwelling, and shooting into a vehicle.

The incident took place just after midnight on September 21, when multiple individuals opened fire on Main Street. The shooting was captured on camera, and although one person was struck by a bullet, their injuries were not life-threatening.

During his initial hearing, Thompson was granted bail set at $45,000. His case will be referred to the grand jury for further proceedings.
