Montenegrin police have arrested Roman Ziemian, co-founder of the controversial platform FutureNet, who is wanted in Poland and South Korea for his alleged involvement in a multi-million dollar fraud scheme. Ziemian, along with his accomplice Stephan Morgenstern, is accused of defrauding investors of approximately $21 million.

The Montenegrin interior ministry confirmed that Ziemian had been the subject of an extensive search for months. In their statement, they highlighted that he is suspected of serious economic crimes, including large-scale fraud, money laundering, theft, and various legal violations that could lead to a life sentence in South Korea.

This arrest marks another case of a crypto fugitive apprehended in Montenegro. Previously, the founder of Terraform Labs, Do Kwon, was also detained in Podgorica, although he is currently avoiding extradition. Kwon faces accusations related to a cryptocurrency fraud that resulted in a staggering $40 billion loss for investors.
